Tamar Hadechian is a Lebanese multidisciplinary artist based in Copenhagen, born in Beirut to an Armenian family. Working primarily with clay, sculpture, and food storytelling, her practice explores fragility as an essential condition of both material and human existence.
Before dedicating herself fully to art, Tamar practiced dentistry for more than three decades, a background that continues to shape her tactile and intuitive relationship to material. Working with different clay bodies, she approaches clay as a living material, allowing process, texture, and transformation to guide the work.
Through vessels, sculptures, and performative installations, she explores memory, movement, and delicate states of being.
Her work has been presented internationally, including at the Venice Design Biennial, Frieze London, and exhibitions in Lebanon and Denmark. She has participated in residencies including Guldagergaard International Ceramic Research Center and La Meridiana. In 2025, she presented In Situs, an experimental performance at the KUNE Festival. In 2026, House of Today presents her solo exhibition, The Hand and the Tide, at PAD Saint-Tropez. Tamar is also a member of Danish Craftsmen & Designers.
